From the bedside to
single-cell resolution.

I am a physician and a computational biologist. As a resident in hematology and oncology, I diagnose and treat patients with blood cancers and solid tumors; as a PhD student with Fabian Theis, I implement and benchmark deep-learning models — graph neural networks and transformers — for single-cell and spatial omics.

I came to computation through the lab: CAR T-cell therapy for solid tumors at LMU Munich; intravital imaging of cytotoxic T cells inside tumors at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School; then computational biology at the University of Cambridge and minor histocompatibility antigen prediction at Dana-Farber and the Broad Institute. The combination is the point: the clinic shows me which questions matter, and computation gives me the tools to answer them.
